In my last post I shared the Skyline Skort from Peek A Boo Pattern Shop. It reminded me of a pattern that's been dancing around the fringes of my mind for a while now. I drew up this quick sketch and made some measurements.
I'm calling it a "Sport Skirt". I modified Amy's PAB Skyline Skort pattern to create this one. Modifications: Made the skirt slimmer, longer and changed up the bottom to be similar to the School's Out Shorts.
I wanted something comfortable and MaryVance *loves* pockets... and easy enough for running around playing soccer and dodge ball and... I did not make shorts under this one but I will next time.
Thanks to Amy at PAB for inspiring me to get this skirt out of my head and onto my daughter!
I really wanted to try this pattern for my pocket-loving daughter, I did not have a good fabric for the shorts part so this is just the skirt. The fabric is rayon.
Today's Peek A Boo Pattern Post is the Aloha Burn Blocker Suit modeled by Nehemiah. I made this after I made the Hang Ten rashguards for Elijah, Isaac and Joseph so this was made with the scraps from those shirts. You would know the only colors of fabric I had on the shelves were green, red and white! LOL I think he looks like a cyclist or something :)
And a bonus because he is so adorable... (ignore the untrimmed thread...)
Nehemiah loves the Aloha so much he wanted jammies made the same way. I modified the Aloha to make it looser fitting than it would be for a swimmer and voila! He's a very happy camper!
My brother in law recently wed his beloved and I, of course, made dresses for the girls.
The older boys went 'shirt and tie' shopping...
...and I wanted to make ties for the younger boys with a coordinating fabric that would help tie everything together. I found this fabulous pattern at Peek A Boo Pattern Shop
Loving these sharp ties from Amy Hindman's pattern Little Gentleman Tie.
My sweet, scrumptuous, adorable baby will be ONE tomorrow.
Here's a sneak peak of his birthday gifts.
I was going to title this "My Family Loves Me" but Tony suggested this title instead, so we could have his name on the front.
This is all sewn, made of fabric and has lots of texture too!
A closeup of the shapes that fit in the shape pocket.
This is an "I Spy" bag. It's filled with over 40 tiny things that you have to find. It's really a little advanced for Nehemiah but I wanted to make it so I did :)
The back has a vinyl pocket and laminated tag with a photo of all the things in the bag.
