...sick, sick, sick...
Day 8 of *the common cold*...
somehow it seems not so common when it's 'times nine'...
It started with Joseph and he's finally on the mend today... Nehemiah is really feeling bad today though. Bless his little heart...
I'm so thankful MaryVance feels better today. Everyone is on the way to better except Nehemiah but hopefully tomorrow he will be over the hump.
So if you've missed us now you know where we were ;-)

Top 10 Reasons to Buy More Fabric
10. The quilt shop gets angry when you steal it.
9. It will go with something I bought last year.
8. Well-known fact: prevents washing machine withdrawal symptoms on light laundry days.
7. Keeps the people who make cardboard inserts in bolts of fabric employed, thus supporting the national economy in yet one more way.
6. Assists the little birdies with their nests when scraps, threads, and little whispies are allowed to blow in the wind.
5. Without fabric I would have nothing to do with my rotary cutter, my mat, my sewing machine, my iron, my thread, my needles, my quilting books. And my time.
4. Step 32 of Master Plan to drive husband crazy.
3. It does not promote tooth decay.
2. It's not immoral, illegal, or fattening.
1. Surgeon General says: "10 yards a day keeps the blues away."

Fire Dog Day 08
Five years ago we decided to create a new family tradition, our very own holiday... we call it Fire Dog Day (because when we had our first holiday Elijah was little and called hot dogs 'fire dogs' because they are cooked on a fire). Our Fire Dog Day consists of a bonfire with roasted hotdogs, s'mores and sometimes a new family game or movie. This year we were blessed to have our 'adopted' parents over for the evening, Mr. Lonnie & Miss Alma.

Nehemiah snoozed through supper.
Grammy Alma enjoying S'mores with Luke and Elijah.
Aren't his eyes just dreamy... :-)
We had a really great Fire Dog Day 08! Won't you plan to join us November 13, 2009 for our next one?

Newest Project ~ Birthday Banner
Remember I told you we had so much fun with our 'Give Thanks' banner that we were working on a birthday one? Well, here it is! We had a lot of fun and learned that some patterns work better than others! :-)

I ran out of little clothes pins and put the name up with straight pins. Never fear, I went back to WalMart and purchased more clothes pins after I took this pic!

The Big 16.... Our Caleb

It's so hard to believe... where has the time gone... he was just a wee babe... just a giggling toddler... just reading candle labels... just learning to ride a bike... I blinked.
And now he's a young man... learning to serve with a joyful heart... striving, with his whole heart, to live a life pleasing to the Lord... learning through his own personal struggles what it means to be a Christian... growing up.
I watch it all through tears... thank you Lord for Caleb. He is a blessing to me and to each of us. Hold him close and guide him...
